THE VIII ANNUAL GALA BENEFIT WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS! THE NEW BRAZIL WAS CELEBRATED ON A HIGH NOTE BY ALMOST 500 PEOPLE WHO JOINED AT THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM IN SUPPORT OF SOCIAL PROJECTS IN BRAZIL! BrazilFoundation would like to thank Nizan Guanaes for the sucessful evening; Master of ceremonies Fernanda Motta and Vik Muniz; The honorees Angela Gutierrez, Eduardo Eugenio Gouvêa Vieira, and Jair Ribeiro; And all of those who were present at the event.

The Event	BrazilFoundation will host a Luncheon for Honorees and the Gala's Lead Sponsors at Cipriani Wall Street, presented by Vale, the Annual Gala Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and an After Party at the Top of the Standard, presented by Shopping Cidade Jardim. The three events will serve as an opportunity to gather friends, partners and sponsors of BrazilFoundation in support of projects that can transform the social reality in Brazil. The VIII Annual Gala Benefit will embrace the theme “The New Brazil”, underscoring Brazil's economic growth and heightened global profile. During the three events planned for September 23rd, we will celebrate a Brazil of qualified professionals and artistic talents. We will also celebrate a Brazil that continues to promote both sustainable development and social justice.
Proceeds	BrazilFoundation is a US-based non-profit established in New York in 2000 with the goal of generating resources for initiatives that promote social change in Brazil. The Annual Gala is the Foundation's flagship fundraising effort to support social projects in Brazil in the fields of education, health, human rights, citizenship and culture. In ten years, BrazilFoundation has raised $12.5 million dollars and supported 208 social projects though the annual selection process made possible with the resources raised at the Gala. “I feel honored to have been chosen by Leona Forman and the BrazilFoundation Gala Committee to be the Chair of this year’s Benefit. The event will celebrate The New Brazil, at a remarkable venue, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Preceding the Gala, Vale will host an exclusive luncheon at Cipriani Wall Street for the event's main sponsors and honorees. And we will also host an After Party, presented by Shopping Cidade Jardim, at one of New York’s most exclusive venues, Boom Boom Room at the Top of The Standard. With these three activities we hope to ensure the resources needed to support the amazing work that BrazilFoundation has been doing in Brazil. A special issue of the Brazilian VOGUE magazine will be dedicated to this year’s Benefit. I extend my deep appreciation to the Gala Committee guiding the preparations of the event with such passion and dedication. I know it will be a memorable evening.
