ANGELA GUTIERREZ

Born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, the corporate executive, entrepreneur, art collector and President of the Flávio Gutierrez Cultural Institute, Angela Gutierrez is responsible for numerous Brazilian initiatives including building museums, developing publications and promoting, safeguarding and protecting Brazilian cultural heritage. Ms. Gutierrez has built significant collections subsequently donated to National Heritage. For this reason she created the Oratory Museum in Ouro Preto, the Museum of Arts and Trades in Belo Horizonte and the Museum of Saint Anne, soon to be inaugurated in the city of Tiradentes. Bearing the UNESCO official seal, the Institute has exhibited its collections in France, Portugal, Italy, England and the United States, as well as in many South American countries.

A Former Secretary of Culture of the State of Minas Gerais, Angela Gutierrez has participated in advisory councils with organizations such as the National Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM). She is the vice-president of the Administration Board of the Andrade Gutierrez Group.

EDUARDO EUGENIO GOUVÊA VIEIRA

Eduardo Eugenio Gouvêa Vieira is the president of FIRJAN, the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro; he is a member of the Board of the National Development Bank (BNDES) and President of the Brazilian Association of Chemical Industries. FIRJAN is a 183 year-old trade association, whose mission is to drive sustainable economic growth in the State of Rio. It does it through providing key services to industries throughout the state in the areas of business competitiveness, education, and the well being of workers and of society in general.

FIRJAN’s Business Council for Social Responsibility has focused in creating programs that stimulate social sustainability for local development, such as a fund in partnership with the InterAmerican Foundation that has supported 40 social projects and involved 47 businesses and 32 non-profit organizations, directly benefiting over 3424 people. Through its SESI branch, the FIRJAN System develops scaled social initiatives in the state of Rio de Janeiro, such as the project "Transformar" (To Transform) that has provided literacy training to over 128 thousand people. Another project, the "PRO IDH" (Pro Human Development Index) has raised academic performance and provided vocational training to low-income communities in 91 Municipalities in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The project "Aprendizes da Liberdade" (The Apprentices of Liberty) works with disadvantaged youth and coordinates social services efforts from the public and private sectors in partnership with the "Policia Pacificadora" (the Peacemaking Police) in areas previously controlled by drug traffickers.

JAIR RIBEIRO

Jair Ribeiro da Silva Neto is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board and shareholder of CPM Braxis S.A. and senior partner of Sertrading S.A., a Brazilian import-export company. Mr. Ribeiro is the visionary and controlling shareholder of Casa do Saber (the "House of Knowledge"), a cultural and educational center in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Ribeiro is the founder and general coordinator of Associação Parceiros da Educação ("Partners in Education"), an independent, non-profit organization that promotes partnerships between businesses and public schools in the State of São Paulo that currently assists over 70,000 students in 83 public schools.
